new thing

that engine drove itself all the way down

a mischievous engagement with some mechanic’s wife

dial buzzing Ricky-Rick’s Slick Sounds of the Sixties

air conditioner cranked and layin’ it on

her hair taut, in a hairclip or barbed wire

casually hanging off a 52’ Pontiac

jeans torn high, smudges and kisses

curly red curvy and willing to try new things

she could lay it on like paint

a brown leather bag exchanges trunks

she is leaving him for the electric car
